The UBSE UTET answer key 2026 is the reason thousands of teaching aspirants in Uttarakhand are searching online this week. The Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) released the provisional answer key on 5 October 2026 for the Teacher Eligibility Test held on 29 September 2026, and the objection window remains open until 15 October 2026, 11:59 PM. Here is what candidates need to know, what the marking scheme means for estimated scores, and why the term spiked on Google Trends.
UTET answer key 2026: release date and exam details
According to The Times of India, the answer key was issued on 5 October 2026 for the written examination conducted on 29 September 2026. UTET-I is for candidates seeking eligibility to teach Classes I to V, while UTET-II covers Classes VI to VIII. Admit cards had been released on 22 September 2026, ahead of the exam.
Both papers are objective-type, with 150 questions carrying 150 marks each and a duration of two hours and 30 minutes per paper. UTET-I comprises five sections (Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies), while UTET-II has four sections including a subject-specific part for Mathematics and Science or Social Studies.
How to raise objections before 15 October 2026
As reported by Physics Wallah, the objection tracker on the official portal (ubse.uk.gov.in) opened on 5 October 2026 and closes on 15 October 2026 at 11:59 PM. Candidates must log in with their registration number and password, select the question number and paper set they wish to contest, and upload valid documentary proof supporting the claim. Challenges submitted after the deadline may not be accepted, so candidates should verify timelines on the official UBSE portal.
Marking scheme: how to estimate your score
UTET 2026 has no negative marking. Each correct answer earns +1 mark, and incorrect responses carry zero penalty. To estimate a provisional score, candidates simply count their correct responses against the official key. This makes the provisional key especially important: any successfully challenged answer can shift the final score for every candidate who attempted that question.
What happens after the objection window closes
UBSE subject experts will review all challenges submitted before 15 October 2026. The board will then publish a final answer key, and the UTET 2026 results and qualifying status will be compiled on the basis of that revised key. Candidates should keep a copy of the provisional key and their response sheet for reference until results are declared.
Why 'ubse utet answer key' is trending
Google Trends India recorded roughly 10,000 searches for the term in the 24 hours around 6 October 2026, with about 600 percent growth — a spike that coincides directly with the 5 October release of the provisional key. Note that Google Trends figures reflect approximate search interest, not website traffic, and do not by themselves verify any news claim.
Eligibility recap for UTET-I and UTET-II
For UTET-I, eligibility includes Class 12 with 50 percent marks plus a two-year D.El.Ed/BTC, a four-year B.El.Ed, or graduation with D.El.Ed/BTC under prescribed conditions. For UTET-II, routes include graduation with B.Ed/Shiksha Shastri, or Class 12 with 50 percent and a four-year B.El.Ed, B.A.Ed or B.Sc.Ed. Qualifying UTET is a key step toward teaching positions in Uttarakhand's primary and upper primary schools.
