The nbems neet pg result is the top concern for the 2.65 lakh candidates who sat the exam on 30 August 2026. As of 21 September 2026, the result date was communicated by the NBEMS helpdesk, while the provisional answer key and response sheet remained un-dated.
Result date communicated in late September
On 21 September 2026 EdexLive spoke to the NBEMS helpdesk. The helpdesk said the announcement would happen on 30 September 2026 and asked students to monitor the official portal for updates. No specific time was shared and the helpdesk said it had no update on the key at that moment.
Answer key release not announced yet
A Times of India live blog dated 22 September 2026 noted that the exact date and time for the answer key had not been announced. The board was expected to publish the provisional key and response sheet on natboard.edu.in, but candidates were advised to rely only on official notifications rather than social media rumours.
Exam format and marking scheme
NEET PG 2026 was held with 180 questions, down from the earlier 200-question format. The scoring is +4 for each correct response and -1 for each incorrect response. Unattempted items carry zero. This scheme is important for estimating a probable score once the key is available.
Tie-breaking order
When marks are equal, NBEMS applies a sequential tie-break:
- Fewer incorrect answers in total
- Fewer incorrect answers in Section A
- Fewer incorrect answers in Sections B, C, D and E in that order
- Higher aggregate marks in MBBS professional examinations
- Older candidate age
How to check once the key is live
After activation, candidates can log in to natboard.edu.in with application number and password. The portal shows question IDs, correct answers and recorded responses. Comparing these allows a probable score calculation before the final result is published. Keep login credentials ready and check only the official site for release notices.
