The Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) published the provisional utet answer key for the 2026 Teacher Eligibility Test on 5 October 2026, six days after the exam was held on 29 September. Aspirants who sat for Paper 1 (teaching Classes 1–5) or Paper 2 (Classes 6–8) can now match their marked responses against the board's official solutions for all four question-paper sets and estimate their likely score before results are prepared.
How to Download the UTET 2026 Answer Key
The keys are hosted behind a login on the board's portal, so keep your application details handy. The process is straightforward:
- Open ubse.uk.gov.in and find the login window on the homepage.
- Sign in with the registration number and password created during your application.
- Select your paper and question-paper set to view or download the provisional key and your response sheet.
If you have forgotten your password, use the portal's recovery option well before the objection deadline rather than waiting until the final day.
Objection Window Closes 15 October at 11:59 PM
Candidates who believe a question or answer in the provisional key is wrong can file a challenge online between 5 October and 15 October 2026. Each objection requires you to pick the specific question and set, then upload documentary evidence supporting your claim. UBSE's notification makes clear that late or offline submissions will not be entertained, so treat 11:59 PM on 15 October as a hard cut-off. Challenges without credible proof risk being rejected during expert review.
Marking Scheme: Estimate Your Score
UTET carries no penalty for wrong answers, which makes self-scoring simple:
| Response | Marks |
|---|---|
| Correct answer | +1 |
| Incorrect or unanswered | 0 |
Because there is no negative marking, your provisional score is simply the total count of correct responses. Remember this is only an estimate — the final key may change answers after objections are reviewed.
When to Expect the Final Key and Result
UBSE has not announced a result date yet, but past cycles offer a reasonable benchmark. An EdexLive analysis of the last four UTET cycles found provisional keys arrived four to seven days after the exam — 2026's six-day gap fits that pattern exactly. Results have historically followed roughly three to six weeks after the objection deadline: the 2023 result came on 29 November after a 19 October deadline, and the 2025 result on 12 November after a 9 October deadline. On that basis, candidates can plausibly expect the final key and result around mid-to-late November 2026, though only the board's official notice will confirm it.
The release also explains the search spike: Google Trends recorded roughly 400% growth in "utet answer key" queries in India on 5 October 2026, with about 500 searches in 24 hours — a sign of candidate interest, not a measure of any website's traffic.
