Sourcetree Git Flow Finish Feature Merge Target Configuration

When using Sourcetree’s Git Flow extension to finish a feature, the tool must decide which branch receives the merged changes.
The expected behavior is that the feature branch is merged into the integration branch defined for the flow (commonly develop). However, if a repository has renamed its integration branch (e.g., using main instead of develop) or has customized the branch mapping in Sourcetree’s Repository Settings, it is unclear which source the tool consults to determine the target.
Does Sourcetree prioritize the Git Flow configuration stored in the repository’s .git/config, the branch names displayed in the Repository Settings UI, or fall back to the default names hard‑coded in the extension? What happens when these sources conflict, and how can a user verify the actual merge target before completing the finish action?
