Is there a supported way to add a custom CA to Minitab’s certificate validation process?

Enable a Minitab installation to trust a corporate or self‑signed CA when connecting to Minitab Cloud services.
Minitab relies on the operating‑system resolver and trust store for DNS and TLS. The application offers no UI or command‑line option to import a custom CA bundle, and the current releases do not expose certificate validation settings.
It is unclear whether the OS‑level trust store changes are automatically recognized by Minitab, or if a future release will introduce explicit support for custom CAs.
Yes. Minitab does not maintain its own trust store; it relies on the operating system’s certificate validation (Windows Certificate Manager) or, for older versions that bundle a Java runtime, the Java cacerts keystore.
certmgr.msc (or run mmc and add the Certificates snap‑in for the local machine)...\MinTab\jre\lib\security\cacerts).keytool -import -alias myca -file ca.cer -keystore cacerts -storepass changeit (default password is changeit).Minitab does not provide a UI or command‑line flag to reload the trust store without a restart; changes to the OS store are only read at process start. Future releases may add explicit configuration, but as of the latest public documentation no such mechanism is announced.

Minitab reads the operating system’s trust store only when the process starts. On Windows, placing the CA certificate in either the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store for the local machine or the current user is sufficient because Minitab runs under the user account that launched it. The same principle applies on macOS (Keychain System or login keychains) and on Linux (the system OpenSSL bundle). No UI or command‑line option exists to reload the store without restarting Minitab, so any change to the OS trust store requires closing all Minitab instances and launching the application again for the new CA to be trusted.
certutil -store root (Windows) or security find-certificate -a -p (macOS).
