FileZilla 3.60.0: Explicit TLS enforcement now mandatory – how to support legacy FTP servers?

We need to verify that FileZilla 3.60.0’s new explicit TLS handling can be accommodated in a test environment without exposing production credentials.
The test server does not advertise TLS support. Site Manager entries were previously configured with “Require explicit FTP over TLS” under the assumption that a fallback to plain FTP would occur automatically. After the 3.60.0 release, the client aborts the connection when the handshake fails, and the fallback option is hidden in the global Settings dialog.
Should we enable the “Fallback to plain FTP on TLS failure” setting for all legacy sites, or adjust each Site Manager entry to “Use explicit FTP if available” and accept the new mandatory behavior?

To support legacy servers without modifying every Site Manager entry, enable the global "Fallback to plain FTP on TLS failure" setting. This allows connections to proceed as plain FTP when the TLS handshake fails, even if the specific site is configured to "Require explicit FTP over TLS."
In FileZilla 3.60.0, the enforcement of explicit TLS changes how the client handles handshake failures. The behavior differs based on where the configuration is applied:
Automated scripts and legacy workflows are affected as follows:
To verify this behavior in a test environment, use the following sequence:
This configuration assumes the test environment is isolated. Enabling global fallback reduces security by allowing unencrypted traffic when TLS negotiation fails, which could expose credentials to man-in-the-middle attacks if used in production.
