Brand Kit custom font embedding change in PDF export after Canva 2024.02 update

Goal: Verify that custom fonts uploaded to Canva Brand Kit render identically in the web editor and in exported PDF files.
After the 2024.02 platform update, Canva’s PDF generation pipeline limits font embedding to a whitelist of commercially licensed fonts, and user‑uploaded .ttf/.otf files are not automatically included unless a separate licensing flag is applied. This creates a discrepancy between on‑screen design preview and final PDF output, leaving the long‑term behavior of user‑uploaded font embedding uncertain.
Does Canva intend to extend the whitelist to cover user‑uploaded fonts that meet licensing requirements? Is there a mechanism to activate the licensing flag for fonts added to Brand Kit? Will enabling the “Flatten PDF” option reliably preserve the intended typography without requiring text‑to‑outline conversion?
