Who is Siwet Tomar? Why the Rise & Fall 2 Contestant Trended in India

Siwet Tomar, a reality TV personality known for his appearances on Roadies and Splitsvilla, trended across India in late September 2026 following his abrupt eviction from the Prime Video series Rise & Fall Season 2. The search spike, which saw growth of approximately 500% on Google Trends around September 29, 2026, was triggered by a violent physical altercation between Tomar and BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.

The Altercation: What Happened Between Siwet Tomar and Shehzad Poonawalla?

The conflict occurred during an "Ultimate Ruler race," a high-stakes segment of the show designed to determine which contestant gains power and safety. Tensions peaked when several contestants, including Shehzad Poonawalla, identified Tomar as the weakest player. After being eliminated from the race, Tomar retaliated by naming Poonawalla as a weak Ruler.

The situation escalated into a physical fight when Poonawalla questioned Tomar's consistency regarding his relationship with fellow contestant Swara Bhaskar. According to reports, the argument turned violent when Tomar grabbed Poonawalla by the neck and pushed him down, resulting in Poonawalla's kurta being torn during the scuffle.

The Context: Swara Bhaskar's 'Jauhar' Remark

The root of the tension lay in a previous controversy involving actress Swara Bhaskar. A month prior to the incident, Bhaskar had made remarks regarding Rajput women and the historical practice of jauhar. Tomar had publicly stated he would boycott and refuse to speak to Bhaskar over these comments.

However, during the filming of Rise & Fall 2, Tomar was seen interacting with Bhaskar. This perceived change in position prompted Poonawalla to confront Tomar, which served as the catalyst for the physical clash. Despite Bhaskar's attempts to intervene and separate the two men, the fight continued until other contestants stepped in.

Eviction and Aftermath

Following the incident, the show's producers evicted Siwet Tomar for physical assault. The decision sparked mixed reactions among the cast; while Poonawalla demanded a meeting with the creative team and producers to address the acceptability of the violence, other contestants like Karan Patel and Swara Bhaskar expressed dissatisfaction with the eviction decision.

Poonawalla's team later released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) thanking supporters and asserting that the spokesperson "will rise again." Rise & Fall Season 2, hosted by former cricketer Virender Sehwag, premiered on September 26, 2026, on Prime Video.
