Shehzad Poonawalla Rise and Fall 2: Why He Trended in India

The search term Shehzad Poonawalla Rise and Fall 2 became a major topic in India around 29 September 2026 after a series of on-screen clashes during the first week of the reality show hosted by former India cricketer Virender Sehwag. A Google Trends signal observed at 11:04 UTC (4:34 PM IST) on 29 September 2026 recorded roughly 5,000 approximate searches for “shehzad poonawalla” and about 400% growth over the previous 24 hours. Google Trends describes these counts as approximate search activity and says the signal verifies interest, not the truth of news reports.

Rise and Fall 2 and the first-week controversies

The show had barely begun when Poonawalla emerged as a central figure in multiple disputes. Entertainment reports from 29 September 2026 described a physical fight with contestant Siwet Tomar, a heated verbal argument with television actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, and continuing verbal conflict with actress Swara Bhaskar. The cluster of incidents helped push the name into India’s trending list and made Poonawalla one of the most searched personalities that day.

Physical fight with Siwet Tomar led to eviction

Navbharat Times reported that the show had run for only three days when Siwet Tomar was evicted. According to the report, Poonawalla provoked Tomar, who lost his composure and attacked him; during the scuffle, Poonawalla’s clothes were torn. Tomar later shared a video saying he regretted raising his hand but claimed he was provoked by repeated discussion of religion, caste and dietary habits. He also alleged that broadcast footage containing the word “jauhar” was edited; that editing claim remains unverified. Some viewers accused Tomar of attacking Poonawalla because of Swara Bhaskar, though Tomar denied acting on her behalf.

Verbal clash with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary

AajTak reported a separate heated argument between Poonawalla and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. The report says Priyanka called Poonawalla a “manchild,” and he responded by calling her a “gold digger.” Priyanka reportedly became emotional and was seen in tears, while Poonawalla removed his microphone and said he could not tolerate the behaviour. AajTak also described Poonawalla’s verbal conflict with Swara Bhaskar as part of the same turbulent first week.

What is confirmed and what remains unverified

As of the 29 September 2026 reports, Poonawalla remained a contestant on Rise and Fall 2. The physical fight, the “gold digger” remark and the eviction are reported entertainment events, not legal findings. Tomar’s claims about editing and about Swara Bhaskar’s apology are his personal statements and have not been independently verified. Google Trends data confirms only that search interest in shehzad poonawalla spiked in India on 29 September 2026.

Incident	Co-contestant	Reported outcome	Source
Physical altercation	Siwet Tomar	Tomar evicted; Poonawalla’s clothes torn	Navbharat Times
Verbal argument	Priyanka Chahar Choudhary	“Gold digger” remark; actress in tears	AajTak
Verbal conflict	Swara Bhaskar	Reported argument; no official statement cited	AajTak

For readers trying to understand the search spike, the sequence matters. The physical fight with Siwet Tomar happened first and led to an eviction. The verbal spat with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary followed in the same first week, creating a cluster of controversies around one contestant. Because Rise and Fall 2 had just launched, the incidents received wide coverage in entertainment media, which likely fed the Google Trends surge.
