Goal
Ensure that a MySQL schema change performed within cPanel can be safely reverted without losing unrelated data.
Constraint
Current options require a manual full‑database backup via the Backup Wizard or a selective schema dump through phpMyAdmin, both of which may overwrite recent changes or miss engine‑specific objects.
Uncertainty
It is unclear whether cPanel should introduce an automated “snapshot before schema change” button that creates a restore point and offers a one‑click rollback, or whether a selective schema‑only approach would be preferable.
Should cPanel provide a one‑click pre‑change snapshot with automatic rollback? Would automating a full backup risk overwriting unrelated modifications made after the snapshot? Is a schema‑only snapshot sufficient to balance safety and data preservation?
