loaddata primary key collision behavior

Django's dumpdata and loaddata utilities provide a mechanism for serializing and deserializing ORM model instances. While loaddata can populate a database from these fixtures, it requires the underlying schema to be present via migrations before execution.
A known constraint occurs when the fixture contains primary keys that already exist in the target database. The current implementation triggers an IntegrityError, causing the entire load process to abort. There is no native configuration to define how the system should handle these collisions, such as skipping existing records or updating them with the fixture's values.
This behavior creates uncertainty when attempting to perform idempotent restores or partial data updates using standard management commands.
loaddata support any undocumented flags to override existing primary keys?Django’s loaddata command does not provide any flags to override, skip, or update existing primary keys. When a fixture contains a primary key that already exists in the target table, loaddata raises a django.db.integrity.IntegrityError and aborts the entire load.
IntegrityError is raised by the ORM during Model.save() when a duplicate PK violates a unique constraint.--override, --skip) exist in core Django for handling PK collisions.loaddata_upsert) that reads the fixture JSON/YAML/XML.Model.objects.update_or_create(pk=pk, defaults=fields) (or get_or_create followed by save if you need to update only specific fields).python manage.py loaddata_upsert myfixture.json.loaddata.If you are using any third‑party loaddata extension or custom serializer, please confirm whether it provides its own collision‑handling flags, as that would change the recommended approach.
