LaTeX formulas from Excel don't work with MS Word equation fields
2h ago
I am using Office 365, and I'm having trouble using links in Excel formulas. In some older versions of MS Office, I had to paste a formula written in Excel as unformatted Unicode text (using Paste Special) and convert it to a proper formula; it worked for me, but now it doesn't convert text pasted as a link in the equation field into a proper formula. Fortunately, it still works with Unicode mode.

In Microsoft 365, Excel may treat the pasted formula as text or a hyperlink instead of converting it into a formula, unlike some older Office versions.
As a workaround, try changing the cell format to General, then press F2 → Enter after pasting. You can also use the HYPERLINK() function directly if the issue concerns clickable links.
If the problem persists, please share an example of the formula that is not being converted so we can identify the exact cause and workaround.
