Horizontal scrollbar overflow in MaterializeCSS Grid rows

The MaterializeCSS grid system relies on a 12-column layout where the .row class implements negative margins to offset the padding of child .col elements. This mechanism ensures that content aligns correctly with the rest of the page container.
A common layout failure occurs when .row elements are nested incorrectly or placed within containers that do not account for these negative margins. This often results in the browser rendering a horizontal scrollbar, indicating that the row has exceeded the viewport width.
Given the percentage-based width system used for columns across small, medium, and large breakpoints, what are the specific structural constraints for nesting rows to prevent margin overflow? Does the framework provide a utility class to neutralize these negative margins in constrained containers?

First, keep the total of column units (s, m, l) in any single .row equal to or less than 12 for the active breakpoint. Second, never place a .row directly inside another .row without wrapping it in a column that supplies the needed padding. Third, avoid overriding the default column padding (0 .75rem) or setting explicit widths on .col elements; let the grid classes control size. Finally, if you must nest a row inside a container that already has padding (e.g., a custom wrapper), add the utility class .no-padding to the wrapping column to cancel its padding so the row’s negative margins can offset correctly.
s4 m6 l3) does not exceed 12..col element; add no-padding to that column when the parent already provides padding.width or padding on columns.overflow-x:hidden to the body or outer container to confirm the scrollbar disappears after the above fixes.Use comments to ask for clarification. When nesting a .row inside another .row, the inner row must be wrapped in a .col that supplies the default 0.75 rem padding; if the parent element already provides that padding (e.g., a .container or a custom wrapper with matching left/right padding), add the .no‑padding class to the wrapping column to cancel its padding so the inner row’s –0.75 rem margins can offset correctly. Without this step the inner row’s negative margins will over‑shoot the parent’s content edge, triggering a horizontal scrollbar.
