Recovery needs to recreate the working service and its required data after a machine or process is lost. Which artifacts and state need protection, and how should the restore be checked?

Keep workflow definitions, lockfiles and deployment artifact identifiers in version control or an artifact repository. Set appropriate retention for logs and artifacts. A hosted-runner workspace is ephemeral and is not a reliable place to retain the only copy of a release package.
