Exporting proxy media instead of high-resolution originals

In Adobe Premiere Pro, the proxy workflow is designed to use low-resolution files for editing and automatically revert to original high-resolution media during the final render. This process typically relies on the internal link between the proxy file and the source clip.
A specific concern arises during the export phase when the software fails to switch back to the high-resolution source, resulting in a final output that maintains the lower quality of the proxy files. This behavior is often linked to the configuration of the export settings and how the application handles the proxy toggle state at the time of rendering.
Technical Constraints
- The sequence must have proxies correctly attached via the Proxy Creation tool.
- The 'Toggle Proxies' button in the Program Monitor may be active during the transition to the export window.
What specific export settings or sequence configurations trigger the use of proxy media in the final render instead of the original high-resolution files? How can this be verified within the export queue to ensure original media is being targeted?

Even when the Use Proxy Media checkbox is disabled, Premiere Pro may still export proxy‑based content if the sequence’s preview files were generated while proxies were active and the export preset is set to render from those previews (e.g., any preset with Use Previews enabled).
- Preview files inherit the resolution and codec of the media that was being played back at render time, so proxy‑enabled playback creates low‑resolution previews.
- To force high‑resolution previews, either render the sequence with the proxy toggle off (Sequence → Render In to Out) or delete existing preview files (Project Settings → Scratch Disks → Delete) and re‑render with proxies disabled.
- After regenerating previews, verify in the Export Settings dialog that the preview‑based preset is selected and that the Use Proxy Media option remains unchecked; the exported file will then match the source resolution.
