Esha Deol's name change honouring her father

On 7 October 2026, Esha Deol said she had adopted the name "Esha Dharmendra Deol" to keep her father with her in life and work. Rediff reported that she called the decision deeply personal, describing Dharmendra as her father and explaining that she wanted to carry his name in all that she does. The report also noted she was set to star in Malamaal Weekly 2 and that her daughters remain her priority. A name change announced publicly does not automatically mean a legal change on official documents unless confirmed.

Zoom TV's roundup of evergreen songs

The same day, Zoom TV published a Hindi feature on eight memorable Dharmendra songs spanning romance and dance numbers. Zoom TV mentioned tracks such as "पल पल दिल के पास" from Blackmail, "ये दोस्ती हम नहीं तोड़ेंगे" from Sholay, and "मैं जट यमला पगला दीवाना" from Pratigya, describing them as still popular with listeners decades later. This retrospective coverage likely added to the nostalgia-driven search activity around the veteran actor's name.

What the numbers mean

The roughly 5,000 searches represent approximate activity over the past 24 hours as observed on 9 October 2026, not ReadMeFeed traffic. Google Trends interest is normalized from 0 to 100, and a trending label reflects volume spikes rather than verified news. Readers should treat claims about Dharmendra's health or private life with caution and check reliable sources before sharing them.

Context for Indian readers

Zoom TV described Dharmendra as Bollywood's "ही-मैन" and noted that his songs have remained audience favourites for decades. His film career includes romantic roles and dance numbers that continue to appear on playlists. The October 2026 trend combined a personal family announcement with this musical nostalgia, which helps explain why searches concentrated around his name rather than a specific new film release. For readers looking for updates, the verified developments remain Esha Deol's statement on 7 October and the Zoom TV song list published the same day.
