The National Testing Agency published the ugc net result 2026 for the September re-examination on 18 September 2026. The announcement covers only English, Commerce and Sociology and is separate from the main June 2026 cycle results.

Why a re-examination was held
The retest was ordered after candidates flagged errors in the original June papers. The NTA announced the retest last month for the three affected papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination following complaints about several errors The Hindu.
The June 2026 cycle was conducted from 22 to 30 June across 87 subjects for JRF, assistant professor eligibility and PhD admissions. Only the three subjects with reported issues were re-tested.
Re-exam schedule and scale
The re-examination took place after an NTA notice on 16 August 2026. According to official reporting, the test was held on 9 and 10 September at 454 centres across 272 cities NewsOnAir.
- 9 September 2026: English 9 am to noon first shift; Commerce 3 pm to 6 pm second shift
- 10 September 2026: Sociology 9 am to noon first shift
How to check result and final answer keys
Candidates can view score cards and final answer keys through the UGC-NET registration portal using application number and password. The NTA released final answer keys for English, Commerce and Sociology on the same day as the results and made them available on ugcnet.nta.nic.in NewsOnAir.
The agency urged candidates to visit the official website regularly for updates and to contact the NTA Help Desk for clarifications.
