नेतृत्व, मुख्यालय और स्पॉन्सरशिप
The board’s headquarters are located at the Kabul International Cricket Stadium. As of the latest available information, the Chairman is Mirwais Ashraf, the Chief Executive Officer is Naseeb Khan and the head coach is Jonathan Trott. Major sponsors include Etisalat, Afghanistan National Television, FanCode, CricHeroes, Kardan University, RANA Technologies, Ariana Afghan Airlines, Amul and TYKA Sports.
घरेलू टूर्नामेंट और विकास योजना
ACB oversees a range of domestic competitions: the Ahmad Shah Abdali 4‑day Tournament, the Mirwais Nika 3‑Day Tournament, the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament, the Green Afghanistan One Day Cup, the Shpageeza Cricket League T20 and the Qosh Tepa National T20 Cup. The domestic structure originally featured a 25‑over Inter‑Provincial Tournament with 22 provinces, later reorganised into a 50‑over tournament split into a Challenge Cup (Etisalat ODN Challenge Cup) and an Elite Cup. The provinces are grouped into five cricket regions: Amo (Balkh, Faryab, Jowzjan, Samangan, Sar‑e‑Pol), Spin Ghar (Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan), Band‑e‑Amir (Ghazni, Bamyan, Daykundi, Maidan Wardak), Mis Ainak (Khost, Logar, Paktia, Paktika) and Boost (Kandahar, Helmand, Nimruz, Uruzgan, Zabul). All provinces except Daykundi and Farah have representative sides, while the ACB also recognises Afghan Refugees and Kochain as provincial teams. In July 2016 the board unveiled a strategic plan aiming for Afghanistan to become a top‑six ODI side by 2019 and a top‑three team in both T20Is and ODIs by 2025. As part of that plan, ACB prepared a proposal to the BCCI to secure annual bilateral matches with India, intending to begin such tours from the following year.
महिला टीम की वर्तमान स्थिति
The Afghanistan women’s national cricket team was formed on 11 November 2010. It folded in 2014 due to lack of support and threats from the Taliban. An attempt to reform the team in 2020 failed when all 25 players fled the country after the Taliban takeover in 2021. As of 2024, the ACB has stated that it has no plans to reform a women’s side and has avoided contact with the exiled players.
