Khalifa OTT Release Date: Where to Stream Prithviraj Sukumaran's Action Thriller

The khalifa ott release date was October 9, 2026. Unlike traditional digital premieres where a single platform holds exclusive rights, Khalifa: The Ruler has launched across six different streaming services simultaneously to reach a wider global audience and recover production costs.

Where to Watch Khalifa Movie on OTT

Depending on your preferred language and region, you can find the movie on the following platforms:

• Amazon Prime Video & Lionsgate Play: Available in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
• Aha: Specifically targeting Tamil and Telugu speaking audiences.
• ManoramaMAX: Focused on Malayalam viewers.
• Simply South: Catering to South Indian viewers living abroad.
• STARZPLAY: Handling the release across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Why the Unusual Multi-Platform Strategy?

The decision to split the streaming rights among six different services was a "deliberate strategy by the filmmakers to maximise the film's financial recovery" [2]. This aggressive digital route was necessitated by a disappointing theatrical run.

Released on August 20, 2026, the high-budget film faced stiff competition from the box-office hit Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. While some reports suggested it crossed ₹50 crore, final figures from Sacnilk indicate a worldwide gross of ₹45.31 crore [2]. With estimated production and marketing costs reaching ₹50 crore, the film failed to break even in theatres, relying heavily on its Kerala market (₹21.30 crore) while struggling in other Indian states.

Cast and Future of the Franchise

The action-packed film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as Mambarakkal Aamir Ali. It also features a high-profile cameo by superstar Mohanlal as Mambarakkal Ahmed Ali and a special appearance by Tovino Thomas as Ivar Alexander [1].

For fans of the khalifa movie, there is more to look forward to. A sequel was announced on the film's theatrical release day. This second installment is expected to be headlined by Mohanlal and will center on a story involving gold smuggling.
