Janhvi Kapoor Chuttamalle AI Controversy: Stars Demand Strict Deepfake Laws

The search term janhvi kapoor chuttamalle ai is trending in India following the emergence of a sexually explicit, AI-morphed video targeting actress Janhvi Kapoor. The manipulated content uses visuals from the romantic song "Chuttamalle" from the film Devara: Part 1, digitally altering the actress's appearance to create vulgar imagery.

Industry Outrage and Legal Vows

On October 3, 2026, both Janhvi Kapoor and her co-star Jr NTR took to social media to condemn the video. Janhvi Kapoor described the incident as a "clear misuse of AI," warning that "legal action will definitely be taken against those involved" [1].

Jr NTR expressed severe indignation, calling the act "disgusting, sick and shameless." He specifically highlighted the cultural contradiction of such acts in a society that values Matrudevo Bhava (treating mothers as gods). He vowed not to spare the "scumbags" responsible for creating and spreading the content, urging netizens to avoid engaging with the video to prevent further harm [3].

A Call for 'Digital Sexual Assault' Legislation

The controversy has sparked a broader conversation about the lack of legislative frameworks to combat AI-generated non-consensual explicit imagery. Actor Vijay Deverakonda joined the call for stricter laws, describing the creation of such morphed videos as the "digital equivalent of sexual assault" [2].

Jr NTR has formally urged both state governments and the Government of India to implement strong regulations against the misuse of artificial intelligence to protect citizens from similar targeted attacks.

Pattern of AI Misuse in Indian Cinema

This incident is not an isolated case. Several other prominent Indian actresses have been targets of similar AI-generated explicit content, including:

• Alia Bhatt
• Rashmika Mandanna
• Rukmini Vasanth
• Shalini Pandey

The recurring nature of these attacks has led to an industry-wide demand for tighter legal scrutiny and faster enforcement against the creators of deepfake pornography.
