Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant Omissions

According to reports from The Times of India, selectors and team management were not convinced of his fitness for the series start date of September 27. The BCCI is reportedly using this window to "focus on grooming a seam-bowling allrounder backup for Pandya" ahead of next year's World Cup in South Africa. Pandya has instead been named in the India 'A' squad for a series against Australia 'A' starting October 6, though this remains "subject to fitness."

Similarly, Rishabh Pant has been omitted from the ind vs wi odi squad. The team management reportedly objected to his inclusion, opting for Dhruv Jurel as the second wicket-keeper. Pant will instead lead the Rest of India (RoI) team for the Irani Cup, which begins on October 1 in Srinagar.
