FC Barcelona vs Racing Santander Lineups: Confirmed Squad and Weather Alerts

Confirmed FC Barcelona Squad for LaLiga Matchday Six

Ahead of their LaLiga matchday six encounter, FC Barcelona has officially announced a 23-player squad to face Racing Santander at the Spotify Camp Nou. As of September 16, 2026, the squad features a blend of established stars and emerging talents, including goalkeeper Joan García, defender João Cancelo, and key attacking threats Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

While the club has named a strong group, head coach Hansi Flick confirmed during the pre-match press conference that the team will be without two key players. Midfielder Frenkie de Jong and forward Roony Bardghji are the only known absentees for this fixture. For fans tracking the fc barcelona vs racing santander lineups, it is important to note that the 23-man call-up list is the pool from which the final starting XI will be selected based on tactical needs and last-minute fitness assessments.

Weather Warning: Potential Kickoff Delays

The barcelona match today faces a significant external challenge beyond the tactical battle on the pitch. A yellow weather warning has been issued by Meteocat, Catalonia's meteorological agency, covering several parts of the region. The forecast predicts a storm front bringing heavy rain, falling temperatures, and the possibility of hail.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 21:30 CEST, but the most critical weather window is expected between 14:00 on September 16 and 08:00 on Thursday. According to Goal.com, these conditions could potentially lead to a delay or postponement if the weather turns severe on the coast and surrounding areas of central Catalonia.

Stadium Context: Camp Nou's Global Stage

While the immediate focus is on the barca match against the Cantabrians—who return to the top flight and visit the stadium for the first time in 15 years—the venue itself is making headlines. Barca Blaugranes reports that the Spotify Camp Nou has been selected to host the 2029 Men’s UEFA Champions League final. This selection underscores the stadium's status as a premier global sporting venue, though it remains a separate development from the current LaLiga campaign.
