Workers KV Global Write Propagation Lacks Documented Upper Bound

Missing Replication Latency Guarantee
Cloudflare Workers KV replicates writes asynchronously across edge locations after the originating data center acknowledges the put operation. Documentation indicates replication typically completes within seconds but does not publish a maximum propagation delay, percentile SLA, or programmable signal for global commit.
Impact on Distributed Patterns
Applications that rely on KV for cache invalidation, session synchronization, or distributed locking cannot bound staleness windows. During network partitions or replication backlogs, stale reads may persist indefinitely with no API to detect lag or wait for cross-region visibility. The expirationTtl parameter does not alter replication semantics; expiration is also eventually consistent.
Current Workarounds
Developers implement application-level coordination such as version vectors, read-repair, or external consensus. Durable Objects provide single-location strong consistency but do not solve multi-region KV read staleness.
What is the current 99th-percentile write propagation latency across Cloudflare's edge network? Does Cloudflare plan to publish an SLA or expose replication lag metrics? Are there recommended patterns for detecting global commit without synthetic cross-region polling?
