Goal: Ensure that subscribed content library synchronization occurs only during defined maintenance windows and does not exceed a specified bandwidth limit to protect production traffic.
Currently, vSphere Content Library subscriptions synchronize on a fixed 60‑minute interval with no native scheduler or bandwidth throttling controls, and the API does not expose schedule or throttle parameters.
- Is there a hidden configuration option or advanced setting that allows administrators to define a sync window for subscribed libraries?
- Does VMware plan to introduce a schedulePolicy or throttleConfig property in the Content Library API for future releases?
- If native controls are unavailable, what are the supported alternatives (e.g., vRealize Orchestrator, external cron) that VMware GSS considers acceptable for production use?
