The Alert Policy feature can suppress repetitive events for a resource within a configurable window, while Notification Dampening limits the number of alerts sent per minute for a given alert type. The interaction between these two mechanisms is not documented, creating uncertainty about whether a suppressed event still increments the dampening counter.

• Does an event that is suppressed by an Alert Policy still count toward the Notification Dampening limit for its alert type?
