Tauri Rust Backend and JavaScript Frontend: IPC Serialization Bottlenecks

Data Transfer Efficiency across the IPC Boundary
Tauri utilizes a JSON-RPC-like mechanism to bridge the Rust core and the JavaScript frontend via the invoke API. While this provides a seamless way to execute Rust functions from the WebView, all data passed between these boundaries must implement Serde's Serialize and Deserialize traits for automatic conversion to and from JSON.
When handling large datasets or high-frequency updates, the overhead of JSON serialization and deserialization can introduce latency or cause performance bottlenecks in the UI thread. There is a design trade-off between the ease of use provided by the #[tauri::command] pattern and the performance requirements of data-intensive applications.
Given the current architecture of the Tauri IPC bridge, what are the recommended strategies for minimizing serialization overhead when transferring large buffers? Are there documented alternatives to the standard JSON-based invoke pattern for high-throughput data streaming?
