Pagination component data attribute migration Bootstrap 4 to 5

Goal is to render page navigation for a large result set using the Bootstrap pagination component under Bootstrap 5.x assumptions.
Bootstrap supplies only static markup and CSS for .pagination > .page-item > .page-link and does not provide JavaScript for bounding queries or loading data. Bootstrap 5 removed the jQuery dependency and migrated component data attributes to the data-bs-* namespace, creating a compatibility boundary from Bootstrap 4. The documentation does not specify how many page items to render for large datasets or provide truncation helpers, leaving ellipsis placement and accessibility labeling as an open implementation choice.
What maximum number of visible page items is considered sustainable for accessibility and layout with Bootstrap 5 pagination? How should non-interactive ellipsis items be labeled for screen readers in the data-bs-* attribute model? Is there a documented canonical pattern for first/last page visibility when page counts are large?
