The same project needs to behave consistently on developer machines, in CI and after deployment. Which versions, dependencies and configuration should be recorded?

Pin SDK, instrumentation and collector versions, and version the collector configuration. Record service names and resource attributes consistently across environments. Test trace propagation between services rather than checking only that one local span appears.
