Minitab X-bar and R chart limits reverting to defaults after a failed upgrade

After a failed Minitab upgrade, my saved control chart configurations appear to have reverted to default settings, and I need to understand exactly which parameters are stored per project versus per installation.

My goal is to keep X-bar and R charts using the historical control limits established before the upgrade, rather than limits recomputed automatically from the current worksheet data. I am unsure whether stored chart parameters live in the project file, the user profile, or a registry/config location that the failed upgrade may have reset.

The Session Journal is mentioned in documentation as a way to recover prior setups, but I do not know how complete that recovery is for control limit definitions specifically.

Which Minitab versions persist custom control limits inside the project file, and which store them elsewhere? Can the Session Journal fully restore a prior X-bar/R chart configuration, including fixed limits? Is there a supported way to lock limits so a recompute after data changes does not overwrite them?
