Incomplete result sets during exhaustive search via the Cut operator

Pruning Behavior in ISO Prolog
In ISO-standard Prolog implementations, the cut operator (!) is used to commit the system to the current choice point, preventing backtracking to previous clauses of the same predicate.
A design challenge arises when distinguishing between green cuts, which optimize performance without altering the declarative meaning, and red cuts, which change the logical outcome of a query. When a cut is placed prematurely in a predicate intended for exhaustive search, the engine prunes valid solution paths, leading to incomplete result sets.
Given these constraints, how can a developer programmatically verify if a cut has transitioned from a green cut to a red cut during the evolution of a complex predicate? What are the standard methods for detecting unintended pruning in a depth-first search implementation?
