Dreamweaver Remote Server file transfer cancellation and timeout handling

Dreamweaver Site Definition includes Remote Server connection settings with a configurable connection timeout and Cancel controls in the Files panel and transfer dialogs for Get, Put and site synchronization jobs.
Cancellation and timeout handling is protocol-dependent across FTP, SFTP and FTPS and varies between legacy CS releases and Creative Cloud releases. Exposed timeout values primarily govern control connection establishment, while data connection idle timeouts, per-file retries and resume behavior are managed internally and are not uniformly exposed to the user.
The behavior of a user-initiated Cancel and of a connection timeout during a multi-file synchronization is not fully documented. It is unclear whether the underlying session is aborted cleanly and whether partially transferred files are rolled back or left on local and remote sides.
Does a Cancel during a multi-file sync abort the session cleanly or leave partial artifacts on both sides? How do exposed connection timeouts interact with internal retry and resume logic for SFTP versus FTP? Is manual cleanup required after a timeout or cancellation?
