Conversations API compatibility boundary: Chat resource SIDs do not carry over

Architects migrating an active Twilio Chat application to the Conversations API face a compatibility boundary that forces a transition strategy without a shared server-side schema between the two services.
The affected feature is the core messaging resource model: Chat exposes Channels, Members, and Messages, while Conversations uses Conversations, Participants, and Roles, so identifiers and participant identity do not map one-to-one. Neither service provides a built-in cross-API synchronization bridge, which leaves an unresolved choice between maintaining dual-write consistency during a phased rollout or accepting a hard cutover with downtime. Client SDKs are also separate libraries with different initialization flows and event emitters, meaning web and mobile clients must be updated in lockstep with the backend migration.
Because exact deprecation timelines and end-of-life dates are subject to change, any migration schedule should be confirmed against current Twilio product notices. Given these constraints, should a dual-write pattern be prioritized to preserve session continuity, or is a hard cutover the only reliable path when Chat resource SIDs cannot carry over? How should participant identity mapping between Chat Members and Conversations Participants be handled during the transition? Are there supported mechanisms for keeping client SDK versions compatible while both APIs remain active?
