CodePen state drift during high-frequency retry cycles

CodePen utilizes a real-time synchronization engine to persist HTML, CSS, and JS changes. To manage API traffic, the platform employs a debouncing mechanism for save operations. However, the internal API does not explicitly expose idempotency keys for client-side retries.
A potential state conflict arises when multiple tabs are open on the same Pen and a network interruption occurs during a retry-loop. Because the editor defaults to a 'last-write-wins' strategy, there is a risk that a delayed retry request could overwrite a newer update that was already successfully processed by the server.
How does the client-side buffer reconcile state if a retry succeeds after a newer keystroke has been registered locally? Is there a mechanism to prevent duplicate payloads from overwriting current state during these cycles?
